“Kofukuji Ginkgo” is estimated to be 800 years old!

The Ginkgo tree of Kofukuji Temple, designated as a natural monument by Shinagawa Ward, is estimated to be 800 years old!

With a height of 40m, it was a giant tree that served as a landmark for fishermen fishing offshore until the Meiji period. It's really impressive when you see it up close 🍁
