Today, December 8th (Friday), a traditional crafts class was held at Genjimae Elementary School in Shinagawa Ward.
The Traditional Crafts Fureai Classroom is an on-site class in which craftsmen visit elementary schools and compulsory education schools in the ward to pass on techniques and traditional culture.
This time's classroom theme is "Edo Kiriko"! !
Mr. Katsuhisa Kawabe of the Shinagawa Traditional Crafts Preservation Society was teaching us how to make "Edo Kiriko"🥃
The children listened intently to the teacher's story, painted patterns on the bottom of the Edo Kiriko glass, and were all smiles while holding the finished Kiriko glass☺️✨
