[WEB magazine “Iwa! Shinagawa”]

“Iiwa! Shinagawa” is a web magazine that introduces the efforts of familiar organizations contributing to the local community.
This time, we will be talking about the "Shinagawa Traditional Crafts Preservation Society," where artisans of traditional crafts from Shinagawa Ward gather to carry out activities that convey the charm of traditional crafts to the present day.
Noriko Takahashi, a Japanese seamstress, and Hikari Shimamura, a potter, are working to pass on the tradition and history nurtured in Shinagawa to the next generation.
We spoke with them about various topics, including the activities of the Shinagawa Ward Traditional Crafts Preservation Society, their daily work, and their future aspirations.
