On Monday, March 4, 2020, the Kawazu cherry blossoms at Samezu Irie Square (1-13-1 Higashi-oi) are at their peak and are a feast for the eyes of people walking around.
You can also observe white-eyes and bulbuls that gather in search of flower nectar.
[Kawazu-zakura] It is said that this cherry tree was discovered in Kawazu-cho, Shizuoka Prefecture around 1955 and became widely cultivated. It is said to be a hybrid of Oshimazakura and Kanhizakura, and is characterized by its large petals, deep pink flower color, and long flowering period.
