On Saturday, January 18, 2025, the 2024 "Hyakunin Isshu Tournament" was held at the Togoshidai Junior High School (Togoshi 1-15-23) by 7th and 8th graders.
The objectives of this initiative are to familiarize participants with Hyakunin Isshu, a great traditional Japanese event, and deepen their education in ancient tanka poetry; to deepen friendships among the group by playing the game in a fun manner while following the rules of classical games; and to foster independence and sociability by organizing an executive committee.
