On Thursday, January 30, 2025, "JAPAN STARTUP SELECTION – the 11th Edition -" was held at the Gotanda City Industrial and Cultural Facility CITY HALL & GALLERY GOTANDA (8-4-13 Nishigotanda), with 31 startup companies from 11 municipalities across the country participating.
This event was organized by the Startup City Promotion Council, and served as a forum for promoting matching between the 11 local governments and startup companies that are members of the Startup City Promotion Council, major companies across Japan, young managers from overseas, and investors.
At the opening, Fukuoka City Mayor Soichiro Takashima, who also serves as chairman of the Startup City Promotion Council, gave a speech. Next, Mayor Morisawa took to the stage for a talk session titled "Startup Ecosystem Cooperation and Beyond." Together with Fukuoka City Mayor Soichiro Takashima and Kagoshima City Mayor Takao Shimozuru, they exchanged opinions on the current situation and challenges of cooperation between startup ecosystems, the appeal of connecting and the outlook for the future, and greatly promoted the appeal of Shinagawa Ward as a startup hub within Tokyo.
