The 4th U-10 Hockey Shinagawa Cup 2024 was held on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at the Oi Pier Central Seaside Park Hockey Stadium (4-1-9 Yashio).
This event was started as a legacy of the Tokyo 2020 Games. As one of the activities to support and promote hockey, the goal is to allow the "Shinagawa Challengers," a team for elementary school students who have never played hockey, and children from hockey clubs active in and around the ward to demonstrate the results of their daily practice and enjoy a hockey game.
The Shinagawa Challengers are made up of two teams: the 12-member Challengers and the 8-member Fighters. Under the guidance of former Japanese women's hockey representatives Kaori Fujio and Yoshiyo Asano, as well as the Metro Tokyo Hockey & Athlete Club, the team has practiced a total of eight times from December 2024 to February this year.
In addition to the Shinagawa Challengers, the tournament also featured Shinagawa Hockey Club 2020, Pakira Hockey School and Komazawa Hockey School, both active in Yashio, Uretano C SHC from Shizuoka Prefecture, and Yamanashi Prefecture Sports Academy, making it a battle between a total of nine teams. Both the Challengers and the Fighters showed good plays throughout the tournament, and both teams showed signs of further growth.
