Introducing the toilet truck!!
In addition to being the first in the 23 wards to introduce toilet trucks, we also signed an agreement today with the general incorporated association Help Each Other Japan to cooperate in dispatching toilet trucks in the event of a disaster.
To introduce the toilet truck, we used crowdfunding to raise 14.23 million yen, more than half the purchase cost, and these donors were in attendance at today's signing ceremony and unveiling ceremony.
*The donor's name and company name are printed on the back of the truck.
Toilet measures, which are directly related to the living environment in evacuation shelters, have been a major issue in previous disasters, and a survey of all ward residents conducted in 2023 showed particularly high interest in improving the hygiene and privacy environment in evacuation shelters.
Based on this agreement, by participating in the "Disaster Dispatch Toilet Network" planned by Help Each Other Japan, we will be able to build a mutual support system with participating local governments across the country in the event of an emergency.
An actual toilet truck will be set up at Shinagawa Community Park, the starting point of the Shinagawa City Run, which will be held on Sunday, March 9th.
Anyone can use the facility, even if they are not participating in the marathon, so please feel free to use it when you come by.
