On Sunday, February 23, 2025, the 14th Women's Business Grand Prix 2025 in Shinagawa, a business plan contest for female entrepreneurs, was held at the Shinagawa Ward Gotanda Industrial and Cultural Facility City Hall & Gallery Gotanda (8-4-13 Nishigotanda).
The purpose of this contest is to widely publicize the potential of women to start businesses, discover female entrepreneurs with excellent business plans, provide appropriate support, and launch many female entrepreneurs into the world. In addition, grants for a wide range of life stages are available, from students to women raising children. Another feature is that the event is held in a homely atmosphere, with children allowed in the audience.
On this day, eight finalists were selected from 90 applications from around the country, including Shinagawa Ward, and gave presentations. The Grand Prize and other award winners were decided by a panel of five judges, including Shinagawa Ward Mayor Morisawa and the chairperson of the judging panel, Ms. Mariko Tamura of the Shinagawa Prefectural Board of Directors.
The winner of the Grand Prize was Tomoyuki Tatemichi, who presented "Lean Sports, a health management app for women's sports teams – Creating a society where people who suffer from menstrual problems are not left alone." (Tatemichi also received the Shinagawa Ward Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Support Award.) In addition to the Excellence Award, six other awards were also announced.
