[Traditional crafts class: Japanese sewing]

Today, October 19th (Thursday), a traditional crafts class was held at Kyoyo Elementary School in Shinagawa Ward.

The Traditional Crafts Fureai Classroom is an on-site class in which craftsmen visit elementary schools and compulsory education schools in the ward to pass on techniques and traditional culture.

This time's classroom theme is "Japanese clothing"! !
Mr. Hiroshi Kamochi and Mr. Noriko Takahashi, Japanese seamstresses from the Shinagawa Traditional Crafts Preservation Society, taught us how to make a “Shijimi Strap''🐚

The children listened intently to the teacher's story while working hard to create their own original straps.
