Candle Night is a summer tradition at Ecoru Togoshi. This year, we will make lanterns that give a natural feel using glass bottles, and light up Ecoru Togoshi and Togoshi Park with LED lights. Glass bottles are made from natural materials with the same composition as the earth's crust, making them an eco-friendly material that can be recycled over and over again.
■ Lantern making workshop
Date and time: August 10th (Sat) to 14th (Wed) 9:30am, 11am, 1pm, and 2:30pm each day (first 30 people per session, approximately 1 hour)
What to bring: A used, clear, empty bottle (label removed, size: approximately 9-13cm in height, 5cm in diameter or more)
*The lanterns you create will be kept for display purposes. Please pick them up at Ecoru Togoshi between Sunday, August 18th and Sunday, September 1st.
■Candlelight Night (free viewing)
Date and time: Saturday, August 17th, 6pm – Live koto music, 6:30pm – Lights on. *Will proceed in light rain, will be cancelled in heavy weather. In case of heavy rain, the exhibits will be displayed mainly on the wood deck and inside the building.
