On Thursday, January 9, 2025, seven players from the Shinagawa Bamboo Rugby Club, a rugby team based in Shinagawa Ward, visited the Ward Office.
The club placed in the top five at the 17th Taiki Life Heroes Cup Kanto Tournament, held at Komazawa Olympic Park General Athletic Grounds No. 2 on Sunday, December 15, 2024, and earned the right to compete in the finals. The finals, which will be held from Saturday, January 25, 2025, will see 16 teams from all over Japan, including the team, take part in the heated battle. The players, who visited on this day, promised Mayor Morisawa that they would do their best in the finals.
