Winter tradition in Shinagawa Ward🌸
"Meguro River Everyone's Illumination" will be held along the Meguro River in the Osaki/Gotanda area from today until January 8, 2020 (Monday)!
The electricity used to light the “cherry blossom” LED bulbs is 100% self-generated using fuel recycled from cooking oil used in homes and restaurants, achieving “local production for local consumption” of energy! Today, a spot to collect used cooking oil was also set up at the venue (4th photo).
The lighting ceremony was complemented by a wonderful performance by members of the Shinagawa Ward Gotenyama Elementary School Brass Band Club, and Ichibantaro Osaki and Ryoma Hatachi enlivened the venue.
