On Saturday, November 11th, a traditional craft experience class was held at the Shinagawa City Small and Medium Enterprise Center.
This time's theme is [lacquer]! !
The lecturer will be Shunji Yasui, a member of the Shinagawa Ward Traditional Crafts Preservation Society!
The participants created their own original patterns by polishing chopsticks made of lacquer that had been coated in layers of black, vermilion, and yellow with waterproof paper☺️
They also heard valuable stories about the history of lacquer.
As a side note, we received approximately 130 applications for the 20 participants this time! !
The next trial class will be held in March.
