[Nemunoki Garden, a Nemunoki plant donated by the Imperial Household Agency, blooms on the former site of Empress Emerita Michiko’s childhood home]

On Friday, June 28th, 2024, the catkins donated by the Imperial Household Agency began blooming at the Nemunoki Garden in Shinagawa Ward Park (5-19-5 Higashi-Gotanda).
The sheep's laurels are grown in the Imperial Palace and the Akasaka Imperial Estate. Two pots arrived on Tuesday, the 25th of the same month, and are now open to the public at the garden, which is located on the former site of the Shoda Residence, the birthplace of Empress Emerita Michiko.
