On Saturday, October 12th, we held the Japan Deaf Football National Team Exhibition Match Viewing and Social Event at Tennozu Park Soccer Stadium!
On the day, a large crowd gathered to watch the match between the Japan Deaf Football National Team and Shinagawa CC.
Although the match ended in a 1-1 draw, the entire stadium was in a frenzy as the Japan Deaf Football National Team scored the opening goal and Shinagawa CC managed to get one back.
The kicker at the ceremonial first pitch was Hayato Uematsu, an official Shinagawa Ward Deaflympics supporter.
Many children participated in the exchange event, and during the Q&A session they asked the national team players questions such as "Who is your favorite soccer player?" and "How much food should I eat to become stronger?"
He asked questions such as these and enjoyed interacting with the players.
There was also a deaf athletics start ramp experience booth set up, allowing many people to try out deaf sports.
Currently, Shinagawa ward is working to achieve 120% awareness of the Deaflympics.
We are currently conducting government crowdfunding using hometown tax donations.
The donations we received will be used for this project,
The donations will be used to cover the costs of Deaflympics awareness events and other activities.
We look forward to your kind support.
