Today, we awarded a certificate to a pharmacist representative who has been certified as a Shinagawa Ward Certified Dementia Support Pharmacist.
The ward has established a system in which pharmacists at family pharmacies, who are familiar to residents, provide support for dementia in collaboration with the government, medical care, nursing care, welfare, etc. In order to promote the development of a community where people can live with peace of mind, we have started a new "Shinagawa Ward Certified Dementia Support Pharmacist System" this year.
Starting in August of this year, we will be holding a total of four lectures on dementia. Approximately 100 pharmacists who took all courses were certified as “Shinagawa City Certified Dementia Support Pharmacists.''
We expect certified pharmacists to act as a point of contact for dementia-related consultations, to serve as a conduit for connecting to appropriate related organizations, and to strengthen the dementia support system, as well as to support people with dementia and their families living in the community. You will also take on the role of a “dementia supporter,'' a person with disabilities.
